9th ANNUAL STATE OF EDUCATION ADDRESS 

WHAT:  State of Education address by FWISD Superintendent Melody Johnson  

WHERE: Fort Worth Chamber luncheon, Colonial Country Club, 3735 Country Club Circle, Fort Worth, TX 76109-1099, Mapsco 75V 

WHEN: Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 11:30 a.m., Dr. Johnson’s remarks at approximately 12:25 p.m. 

SUMMARY: Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Melody Johnson will highlight the successes achieved by the District over the past year during the 9th annual State of Education address to be delivered at the Fort Worth Chamber luncheon on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. 

During her remarks Dr. Johnson will discuss how 55 District schools were able to achieve Recognized or Exemplary status in the recent school year. She will review the remarkable accomplishments at Polytechnic High School and she will update the community on construction progress under the November 2007 bond issue. 

Last year Dr. Johnson unveiled the “Digital District” in her education address. She will update the installation progress that has been made as well as discuss high school redesign and the challenges that threaten to undermine education in Fort Worth. 

Registration for the luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. with the serving scheduled for 12:00 noon. Dr. Johnson’s remarks begin at approximately 12:25 p.m.
